The quarterfinals saw one upset and one favorite win, and Atletico Madrink and Werder Beermen advanced to face the big dogs in the semifinals.
Atletico Madrink thwarted Pathetic Bilbao 21-16. Atletico avenged their previous loss against Pathetic, and they advanced to the semifinals. Atletico only won two games all regular season, but they turned up when it mattered most. Laurent Lzw claimed Man of the Match in the hard-fought victory.
In the second quarterfinal, Werder Beermen repeated last week’s result and beat Shaktar Donuts by a 19-18 score. Shaktar improved on the five-goal deficit from last game, but they were unable to beat the Beermen. Matteo Pastori was the top man for the Beermen, and another performance like that will be needed if the Beermen hope to advance to the Finals.
In the first semifinal, Atletico Madrink will take on the regular season runners-up Real Social Dads. The Dads beat Atletico both times in the regular season, but they will have to be on their toes as Atletico has already upset one higher ranked team. Fubles is predicting a win for the Dads, but it still looks like it will be a tough game to call.
Secondly, league champions Birrareal face challengers Werder Beermen. Birrareal also beat the Beermen twice, and in their form, they have to be considered favorites. But, Fubles only has Birrareal as slight favorites, so it will be an exciting set of semifinal games.
The bronze match and final will be played on December 8.
