La Berliga Returns in Full Force

After a week off, La Berliga returned as strong and compelling as ever

Week 6 Match Reports

The Real Social Dads announced their claim to the realest team in La Berliga after their 22-20 win over  Real CoholicsGulam Zeynalli also became the realest player with his Man of the Match performance, beating Real Coholics’ Erik Ivaldi by a fraction of a rating point.  The result sees Real Coholics slip further from first place and The Real Social Dads move up to third place.

Pathetic Bilbao continued their run of good performances with a 25-20 slaying of Atletico Madrink.  Pathetic Bilbao’s lethal combination of Marcus Vieira and Ayoola Solomon could not be stopped as Atletico Madrink succumbed to their attacking prowess.  After a rough start, Pathetic Bilbao have nicely recovered, and Atletico Madrink will hope to replicate such a bounce back.

In a hard fought battle,  Birrareal prevailed 20-16 over Werder Beermen.  It was closer than the team’s respective league table position suggested, but ultimately first place Birrareal were too strong for last place Werder Beermen.  Kado Damball won another Man of the Match award for his unbeaten team.

Finally,  Shaktar Donuts came out on top of Rubin Kebab, 15-12.  At least in La Berliga, donuts are better than a kebab.  A clinical performance including a 7.61 rating from Marco Rizzotti propelled Shaktar Donuts to victory.  With the loss, Rubin Kebab falls below Shaktar Donuts in the table.

Week 7 Preview

La Berliga will continue next week by marking the half way point of the season.

Our first match pits Shaktar Donuts against Werder Beermen.  A true battle between calorie-heavy treats sees last place Werder Beermen with an opponent who they must feel they have a chance of a result against.  While Shaktar Donuts won their last game, they only have four more points than the Beermen.  However, Fubles is heavily favoring the higher-in-the-table Shaktar Donuts.

Next on the schedule is Atletico Madrink versus Rubin Kebab.  A close matchup based on recent form, both teams are in need of some good results if they would like to turn their season around.  The top spot is seemingly slipping away, if they do not start a big run.  Fubles gives a slight edge to Atletico Madrink, but it is anyone’s game and Rubin Kebab will be fighting for all three points.

Birrareal versus Real Coholics means a top table clash.  Real Coholics would be the first to defeat Birrareal, and they need a win if they have hopes of catching up to their red-hot rivals.  Nothing has stopped Birrareal so far, and unsurprisingly, they are 2/3’s favorites to win again.

In the last match, The Real Social Dads take on Pathetic Bilbao.  Both teams are coming off important victories and will be looking to continue their upward trajectory.  The Real Social Dads will have to fit some new faces into their team, and perhaps Pathetic Bilbao will look to use this to their advantage.  A slight edge is given to The Real Social Dads, but Pathetic Bilbao or in-form and hungry for more.

Tipping Competition

Once again, there was not a single perfect round of tipping, so andreap85 remains on top with 21 points.  He is 7 points clear of the rest, but their are still many games to be played.  It is still worth it to join the tipping as you get 25 euros from Skybet just for participating.

Top Players

The four Man of the Match winners this week were Gulam ZeynalliMarcus VieiraKado Damball and Marco Rizzotti.  Congratulations to these fearsome four as they are awarded 10 km free on Driveby.  Kado Damball is atop the Top Players table as he is the first player to win three Man of the Match awards.  Five other players are right behind him with two awards to their name.
