High scoring and compelling games marked the fifth week of La Berliga play.
Week 5 Match Reports
We open our La Berliga roundup with a rare draw, a 14-14 stalemate between Atletico Madrink and Real Coholics. The result means Real Coholics have tied their last two matches, but they still keep their unbeaten record and remain comfortably in second place. Atletico Madrink needed to bounce back after last week’s loss, and they held their own against fierce opposition. Carlos Castelló Juan pulled an amazing performance out of his locker and scored a 7.92 rating for Atletico Madrink.
Pathetic Bilbao gave Shaktar Donuts a 20-10 spanking. Pathetic Bilbao were able to build on their first victory and build a two game winning streak that will help them climb up the table. Shaktar Donuts underperformed and this sees the promising team into second to last place. No Shaktar Donuts player received over a 7 rating, and they were overwhelmed by the firepower of Marcus Vieira and Ayoola Solomon of Pathetic Bilbao.
In the third match, Birrareal continued their impressive start to the season with another win, 12-7 over The Real Social Dads. The wins sees Birrareal four points clear the rest of the competition and in a strong position as the halftime of the season nears. An all-around strong team performance allowed Birrareal to dispatch The Real Social Dads despite a high rating from Gulam Zeynalli. Kado Damball was the star man for Birrareal as he put in a Man of the Match performance.
Finally, Rubin Kebab returned to winning form with a 22-15 success over Werder Beermen. The result helps Rubin Kebab fight back up the table and leaves Werder Beermen in sole possession of last place. Werder Beermen put up a fight with strong performances from Amin Khalaf and Hugo Silva, but it was not enough to see off the competition. Ultimately, a team performance and a Man of the Match performance from Lisan Skenderi allowed for Rubin Kebab to win their second game of the season.
Week 6 Preview
La Berliga will have a week off from competitive fixtures, but it returns on the 24th of February. Another four matches will help to shape up the table.
To begin, we have Real Coholics vs. The Real Social Dads. This pits the two realest teams in La Berliga, and it promises to be a title decider for who is the realest. After two straight draws, Real Coholics will be thirsty for a win to try to close the gap at the top of the table. Likewise, the Real Social Dads will be eager to solidify their place in La Berliga, so this game will feature two teams going for it. The game is predicted to go in Real Coholics favor, but not by much.
Next, is a matchup between Pathetic Bilbao and Atletico Madrink. Pathetic Bilbao has turned a corner and no longer living up to their “pathetic”. They will prove to be stiff competition for an Atletico Madrink side that will hope to put their draw behind them and this time out put their opponents to the sword. Fubles gives a slight edge to Pathetic Bilbao, but once again this one could come down to the slimmest of margins.
Thirdly, will be a game between first and worst as Birrareal takes on Werder Beermen. Will Werder Beermen provide an upset to go down in La Berliga history? If Birrareal’s current form is anything to go by then that seems unlikely. Fubles seems to think so too, heavily favoring first place Birrareal, but can Werder Beermen upset the tippers.
Last but not least, Rubin Kebab takes on Shaktar Donuts. In what promises to be a flavorful game, we will have an age old question answered are donuts better than a kebab? Surely a tough question, and Fubles seems to think so too, however the prediction does slightly favor the sweetness of Shaktar Donuts.
This week was a tough one for tippers as only one tipper, Crevette, got even three correct games. A draw means that no one scored perfectly, but andreap85 still sits on tip-top of the tipping table, 7 points clear of the pack. Keep tipping as you get 25 euros from Skybet just for participating.
The four Man of the Match winners this week were Carlos Castelló Juan, Carlos Castelló Juan, Kado Damball and Lisan Skenderi. Kado Damball and Lisan Skenderi move into the group of five players who have claimed two Man of the Match awards this season. All of these winners are awarded 10 km free on Driveby alongside the pride of being the best in the match.
